Mission of the Basketball Program
Our mission is to help develop the participants of the C.A.C.A. Basketball Program into leaders and outstanding citizens within the community. We provide the opportunity for the players to interact and have fun with fellow players and follow the C.A.C.A. Basketball Program Code of Conduct. When interacting with the public, players are representatives of C.A.C.A. As representatives of C.A.C.A., players are expected to act accordingly.
How The Program Works
C.A.C.A. Basketball Program participates in the Portland Parks and Recreational Youth Basketball League. The League consists of 5th through 12th grade boys/girls teams. There are a total of 10 games played with no playoffs. Practice starts in November and ends in mid-March. Games start in early January and commence in mid-March. All games are played on Saturdays within the City of Portland.
C.A.C.A. Basketball Program also has a Basketball Jamboree, held in mid-February vs. the Seattle Chinese Athletic Association (S.C.A.A.). In addition, C.A.C.A. Basketball Program participates in the S.C.A.A. Al Mar Jamboree, which is held in mid-March. Competition between Portland and Seattle has created over 30 years of long-lasting friendships between the two cities.
